Our BD Blog Has Arrived...
Hi there,
We're pleased to announce our MerchantCircle BD blog went live today (don't forget to bookmark it). Going forward, you can expect to read about and comment on:
* Our thoughts and observations about the future of the online local space
* Companies and business opportunities we're excited about
* The status of our local initiatives, successes, failures, etc.
* Other stuff we're not smart enough to foresee at this time
As many of you know, MerchantCircle launched with 5,000 merchants in June of 2006. Our goal then, as now, was to bring the local internet to small business owners throughout America. A couple of years later, we've introduced local internet advertising to nearly 500,000 registered merchants who create unique local content (e.g. blogs, pictures, coupons, etc.) and, increasingly, are paying for local online services like SEM and webpage creation and content development. Even more exciting, local merchants are building valuable local online communities on MerchantCircle, delivering to each a network that extends their reach far beyond the static confines of a simple web listing.
As we work towards our goal of 1MM merchant members by the end of the year, we look forward to speaking and working with many of you, our friends and supporters, on how to continue to build and improve this new greenfield opportunity.
